The works of the flesh span three larger verses and the works of the Spirit span two smaller verses! Is that not like life we live every day?! The bad is worse than the good. Here, in scripture, we have a window to see this really is so. The difference is how much more powerful and productive this shorter list is compared to the latter!

Scripture reads, [13] For you were called to freedom, brothers and sisters; only do not use your freedom as an opportunity to indulge your flesh, but through love serve one another.

Salvation in Christ to the Jews is, quote, “Freedom from Jewish rites and ceremonies. The meaning here is, that Paul wished the false teachers removed because true Christians had been called unto liberty, and they were abridging and destroying that liberty.”

Galations 5:10 reads, “I am confident in the Lord that you will accept no other view. But the one who is confusing you will pay the penalty, whoever he may be.” Notice how this verse closes, “…whoever, he, may, be.” So, interesting. Not just Satan but!, “…whoever,… he may be.”

The implication here is more than just Satan alone influencing God’s children to fall away from their current state in the Salvation of Jesus. Let us see if this is an accurate assumption.

Paul is not mincing his words one bit!! I was stunned by what Paul says in verse twelve the first time I read it. It says, again, “[12] I wish those agitators would go so far as to castrate themselves!” That is very unforgiving of Paul. It also possess extreme clarity of what Paul is saying! In other words, he is unmistakably crystal clear with zero uncertainty!

Paul starts, “You were running well; who held you back that you do not obey the truth?” (FROM: Green’s Literal Translation: Galatians 5:7)

Commentary tells us, “The Christian life is often represented as a race. Paul means here that they began the Christian life with ardor and zeal. Who did hinder you. Margin, drive you back. The word used here means, properly, to beat, or drive back. Hence it means to hinder, check, or retard. Dr. Doddridge remarks that this is “an Olympic expression, and properly signifies coming across the course while a person is running in it, in such a manner as to jostle, and throw him out of the way.” (FROM: Barnes’ New Testament Notes)

“For freedom Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not be subject again to the yoke of slavery.” (Galatians 5:1)

Commentary expands on this subject. It reads, “Stand fast therefore. Be firm and unwavering. This verse properly belongs to the previous chapter, and should not have been separated from it. The sense is, that they were to be firm and unyielding in maintaining the great principles of Christian liberty. They had been freed from the bondage of rites and ceremonies; and they should by no means, and in no form, yield to them again. (FROM: Barnes’ New Testament Notes)

As you know, Corona-Virus jumped the human, animal fence. This was first made well known when the American News Media was examining this as only a Chinese issue. However!, we watched as this virus spread around the world. It was still growing, and still is, in terms of the number infected.

So… why does this remind me of Jesus’ prophecy in The Book of Matthew? It reads, in part, “[4] Jesus answered them, ‘Watch out that no one misleads you.’ [5] For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and they will mislead many. [6] You will hear of wars and rumors of wars. Make sure that you are not alarmed, for this must happen, but the end,… is still,… to come”.
