Because this examination involves ten plagues, this will be a multi-part series with more than our usual three parts maximum.

We need to take special notice of the very first sentence in this Matthew Henry's Commentary passage. It read, “All the plagues inflicted on the Egyptians, had reference to their N – A – T – I – O – N – A – L CRIMES, or were rendered particularly severe by their CUSTOMS.”. We can therefore, understand, that two issues were being addressed by God in the same occurrence of the plagues.
